Perspectives on thermal grid modelling under uncertainty , presentation given by Jonathan Chambers (UNIGE)
Thermal grids are an interesting option for decarbonisation of provision of heating and cooling energy services and making use of renewable energy sources. It is desirable to perform modelling to understand their potential in terms of where such systems could be used and at what costs.
However, in a shifting technology, regulatory, and commercial landscape, significant uncertainties arise.
This talk will present:
- results of uncertainty analysis of a decarbonisation model with thermal network
- and explore perspectives for future research directions in this field
