A new project has started which explores specifically based on the experience in the canton of Basel-Stadt, through which technological approaches and regulatory approaches the switch to renewable energy-based heating systems can be facilitated. The city of Basel-Stadt has been a pioneer in switching to renewable energy-based heating systems, as since 2017, building owners are in principle required to do so when they replace their heating systems.
Project partners involved in the project include:
- INDP,
- University of Basel,
- FHNW,
- University of Geneva, and
- OST.
The project is financed by the research programme «Buildings and Cities» of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy and the canton of Geneva, and supported as well by the canton of Basel-Stadt.
